Disneyland!

Around July, Kevin, a mutual friend of Whit and Megs, informed them that he was going to go to Disneyland for a fairly affordable amount. Whit told Megs that she would like to go to Disneyland. Megs told Whit that she had mentioned that months earlier. Whit replied that she didn't have money then. So the duo decided to go to Disneyland.

The only problem was, Whit and Megs couldn't get a lot of time off of work. So they flew down on Tuesday, August 12 at 6 am and flew back the next morning. Here is a documentary of their adventure.

Megs and Whit and Cody (Whit's little bro) made these shirts until 2 in the morning the night before they had to leave at 4:30 to get to the airport....not the smartest thing to do, but the shirts turned out great! Megs' are all quotes and Whit's are more random phrases. They both have a Walt Disney quote on the front as you will see.

This is the line they DIDN'T have to stand in because they were "expert travelers." Later, however, you will understand Whit's bro's comment of "Wait...who got stuck in Disneyland?" Apparently they didn't check IDs for this expert line...

Whit saw this sign and asked if it meant that adults could play on the escalator...

Their gate changed. Whit was in charge and she was VERY confused because their flight wasn't listed in the assigned gate. Megs helped her figure it out.

Megs and Whit at the SLC airport!

Whit thinks this pic is particularly artistic!

Whit and Megs made it to LA around 7am (8am Utah time). They were very tired and couldn't figure out HOW to find a ride to Disneyland. They were used to the organized UTA. Everyone said to just wait for the bus with the Mickey Mouses on it. But we didn't know WHEN it would come! Look how sad Megs is!

While they waited, they played with the camera.

Megs wanted their faces to match. Every time Whit looked over at Megs while posing for this picture, she was looking at her, so they started laughing.

Meg's is watching her again!

While waiting for their shuttle, they noticed a lot of "Flyaway" Buses, so Megs decided to physically represent their name.

Well...we finally got to Disneyland!

Entering Disneyland!

Mickey was the first character they got to meet. They all match! How cute! They next got in line for Donald, but he had to leave soon, so they decided to get out of line to let more kids meet the characters.

Megs had a plan. Their first stop was the Indiana Jones ride for a fast pass. Whit's car is named Indiana in memory of this ride, but she had never ridden it and it is one of Megs' favorite rides. Whit never rode it when she went because of a mother and grandmother who were afraid of snakes...

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was Whit's favorite ride when she came to Disneyland with Grammy at age 5. It was their first stop.

Doesn't Megs look so excited to be there? Check out the orange family behind them. There were a lot of color-coordinated families at Disneyland. Whit's fave were the ones with neon yellow shirts with a big picture of Utah on the front.

This is ON THE RIDE! Whit has amazing picture-taking skills!

The next stop was Pirates of the Caribbean. Whit had watched a show about this ride getting redone with Captain Jack Sparrow animatronics. He was really life-like, but it looked out of place next to the other pirates, so Whit was rather disappointed.

Megs informed Whit that the cook was posing after she took the picture. Whit is kind of sad she didn't get the cook in the picture. Whit really wanted a Mickey Mouse pancake, but it was only a dollar more for 3 regular pancakes AND bacon AND eggs.

After breakfast, Megs and Whit were set for Indiana Jones.

But...it broke down. A ride attendant took the following picture.

These two are by Whit. The ride was broken down for a LONG time!

Here's a movie Whit made to pass the time.

These are two of the ride attendants at Indiana Jones. Out of everything at Disneyland, Whit was most impressed by all of the detail put into everything--including the costumes of the attendants.

They finally decided to kick us all out. They all got free fast passes to almost anywhere in the park. Megs went rock climbing on the way out.

Whit went rock falling.

Megs had the better idea here, but Whit's was more honest to herself. Random note--when they finally went on this ride, Whit couldn't believe her Mom and Grammy didn't go because of the snake. If anything, the cockroaches are the grossest. But when the rock was coming towards them, Whit was truly scared. She honestly didn't know how they could be safe! That's what she gets for always pretending to be IN movies, etc. instead of an audience.

After Indiana Jones, California Adventures opened! This was a first for Whit. Last time she went to Disneyland, they were building California Adventures. She remembers seeing the Mickey Mouse roller coaster from afar! This is in line for Grizzly Rapids. Whit loved the Oregon feel!

After the rapids! You don't get NEARLY as wet as Rattle Snake Rapids at Lagoon. Lagoon definitely wins for ride feel, but Disney wins for Ride details.

The new Toy Story Ride! Mr. Potato head talks to you while you are in line. Whit was covering him up in the first one and he had his eyes closed in the second. Guess he's not very photogenic.

Here's a video of him talking!

They would've had more pics in front of more posters if Whit's camera didn't go on the fritz. This is in line for Toy Story still. They hypothesized that it was from Grizzly Rapids when a fellow rider volunteered to take a picture of them. She took too long zipping up her purse and held up the camera as they went under the first spout of water. Whit could've warned her, but she really wanted the picture! The camera continued to work later. There would've been a cool pic of Megs and a Buzz Lightyear poster and Whit and a Woody poster, though.

The new Toy Story ride is kind of like the Buzz Lightyear one, but 3D! It's a really fun ride!'

Megs and Whit (mainly Whit) got lost in A Bug's Life land on the way to Terror of Tower. They passed through this tunnel, though, that had Woody on it! Whit loves Cowboys!

Whit REALLY wanted a Mickey Mouse ice cream, just because it was Mickey Mouse. She paid $4 for this on the way out of Bugs Life land.

On the way back from Tower of Terror, Whit spotted Mr. Incredible. Whit couldn't figure out how to get her arm around his awkward plastic body--which led to an awkward picture!

Megs and the Monsters Inc. Crew

Whit and the Monsters Inc. Crew

The Monsters Inc. ride was for kids, but they decided to go on it anyway.

We want YOU! In line for Monsters Inc.

They only wanted to include this picture to explain the next. Megs wanted a picture of this, so she zoomed in. A lot.

So when Whit went to take a picture of the two of them in line, she was VERY confused!

There we go!

In line outside for Monsters Inc.

Whit thinks Megs' face here is awesome.

Inside, but still in line for Monsters Inc.

When we got off the ride, Whit recognized their theme song! They watched the end of the show.

Pics of the show.

Screamin' was our next stop. We had fast passes, of course.

Cool pic near Grizzly Rapids. They got lost on their way back to Disneyland.

Whit just realized that she is missing the rest of the pictures! She will download more shortly!
